About
Rob McCall
I've spent 46 years where aviation safety wasn't a policy document. It was the job.

I started as a flight instructor in general aviation, then moved into corporate turboprops and jets. From there it was 19-seat commuter turboprops for a regional airline, followed by Boeing jets at America West, where I also worked as a simulator instructor and evaluator. The last 29 years have been at United Airlines, where I've flown as a Captain and served as an active Line Check Airman, the pilot responsible for evaluating whether the crews I fly with meet the standard. Over 24,000 hours across that whole arc, general aviation through international wide-body airline operations.
I paired that with formal study: a Master of Science in Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, with graduate work in Aviation and Aerospace Safety Systems and in Human Factors. That combination, operational judgment backed by safety science, is what runs through everything McCall Aviation Consulting does, including independent work I've done developing and validating circadian-adaptation scheduling models against the peer-reviewed sleep literature.
McCall Aviation Consulting, LLC is based in Colorado and serves aviation legal teams, Part 121 and Part 135 operators, and repair stations nationwide, across four practice areas: expert witness and litigation support, fatigue risk management, safety management systems, and operations manual development and review.
